Russian blue pet portraits

Russian Blues are painted by light. The silver-tipped coat does not photograph the way it looks in person, and a good portrait corrects for that — giving back the shimmer the camera flattened.

Coat that catches light

The coat is solid blue-grey but with silver-tipped guard hairs that scatter light into visible shimmer. We tune the rendering to read that shimmer from photos rather than render the breed as a flat grey cat. Library, Highland, and Watercolor flatter the coat directly — misty palettes match the breed's temperature. Tudor adds weight without disrupting the silver.

Green eyes against silver

The emerald-green almond eyes are the second portrait variable, hitting hardest against the cool silver coat — one of the most photogenic combinations in cats. We hold the eye intensity at full saturation. Warm palettes (Sunset, Vineyard) push the green through complementary contrast; cool palettes (Snow, Highland) let it sit within a harmonious whole.
